The beginnings of Wemhöner 

Founded in 1925, Wemhöner started as a craft business for metal processing. After initial developments and inventions, the focus gradually shifted to the field of wood-based material finishing. Currently , Wemhöner Surface Technologies produces machines and systems for this sector and is the world's market leader.

What makes Wemhöner so special?

A unique combination of tradition and innovation. These two concepts have always characterised Wemhöner's actions and objectives. The trust that this family business shares with its employees is also extended by the company to its customers. By keeping in close contact, the company tries to find the perfect, individual solution for each customer. In addition, Wemhöner consciously relies on flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths to accomplish this.

In the course of the company's long history, Wemhöner has been able to gather important experience and implement it productively allowing the company to be in possession of many patents today. Expansion to China

In 2005, Wemhöner decided to expand into China. An obvious decision, as China is the largest market in the world , so there are only two options: invest or withdraw. Naturally, Wemhöner chose the former and in 2007 the first factory in Changzhou was opened. A second factory in China has been producing systems there since 2021. This complements the factory at the German site in Herford.

Innovations for the future

In close cooperation with its customers, Wemhöner also intends to develop further applications and processes in the future. These will be tested and refined at the Herford site until they are ready to be applied in series production. With its continuous research, Wemhöner ensures that they will maintain their privileged position in the industry.
